International Society of
Teledermatology
Easy access to expert medical information and counseling of individuals
independent of social, economic, ethnic and regional factors can be regarded as
a major goal of medical policy today. The visual nature of dermatology makes
this discipline an obvious candidate for telemedicine techniques, and the
feasibility and reliability of teledermatology is already well-established.
Following the 3rd European Symposium on Teledermatology in Graz in November 2002
the International Society of Teledermatology has been founded officially in
2004.
Among the main activities of the society are:
- To promote the worldwide exchange of knowledge and
expertise in all aspects of teledermatology
- Coordinating and supporting national societies of
teledermatology projects and those of individuals working in the
teledermatology field
- Organising scientific congresses and educational
courses
